From the first moment we open our lungs into a cry at birth, we are all born as singers. However, life has a way of gradually nudging us into silence, shame, or just plain confusion about what our voice “should” and “shouldn’t” sound like. We feel embarrassed and awkward about our own voice, hesitant to let our sound out fully in front of others. Not sharing the music of our inner world can leave us feeling unexpressed, unseen, and unheard.

Awakening Voice is a safe, nurturing space that allows you to let go of fear and embrace curiosity, tap into deep intuition, embrace poetry and play, as well as develop a clear understanding and mastery of the physiology of voice production, allowing you to access and release your naturally expressive voice, lifting you into meaningful communication. You will literally sing your heart out!

Whether it’s discovering songs that are personally meaningful to you, exploring different genres, learning to sing in harmony with others, auditioning, understanding music theory, writing, shaping, performing and recording, or reviving that long-abandoned creative project, awakening your voice is about partnering with a supportive mentor to lean into, articulate, and sharpen your own unique, authentic expression.

Along with releasing endorphins and bringing a sense of well-being, singing your song helps you drop the mask, accept yourself in all your strength and vulnerability, connect your inner and outer voice, find your power and move into visibility. This, in turn, can lead to authentic confidence and a celebration of yourself as someone with something to say, and who deserves to be heard! Marguerite offers personalized training in voice for beginners and professionals, including specific needs such as audition/role preparation, sight reading and ear training, improvisation, songwriting, group classes, musical direction for original creation projects, and spoken voice training. Styles explored can range from classical to opera to musical theatre to jazz to pop songs to your own material!

Intermediate to Advanced Piano

Marguerite offers personalized training in intermediate to advanced piano as well as music theory for students who are passionate about music and seek the expert mentorship of a professional pianist with over 30 years of experience.
